Why the iPhone will get cheaper in UAE

We iPhone users in the UAE had to pay a lot of money to get the iPhone. The iPhone 3G sell for about 4000 dirhams Well the prices should drop in my opinion with the release of the iPhone 3G in India for 31,000 rupees about 2700 dirhams. It will be a lot easier and cheaper for the iPhones to come in from India then from USA, which they were previously brought from. It will be interesting to see how much the price will go down. My estimate is they will sell for about 3500 dirhams in the near future. Now if they would just officially launch the iPhone in UAE, then we wouldn't even have to pay 3500 dirhams. Until then, we will have to do with imported iPhones.

How to use eBay

EBay is a very powerful tool to buy a cheap iPhone. Many people in the UAE don't realize that they can get a lot of cheap stuff on eBay. To use eBay you need to sign up for a paypal account. Paypal allows you to make payment on eBay. It is very secure and I use it myself a lot. After you have signed up for a Paypal account you need to set up an acccount with ushopweship. This service gives you a mail box in the USA and you can have your products you buy on ebay ship to that address. Once a week they forward the products in the mailbox in the USA to your UAE address. Another great website to buy cheap stuff is Amazon. Just like eBay you can register at this website and find great deals. Hope this helped

Cheap iPhone in UAE... I know where you can get one

There are a couple of places to look to find iPhones in Dubai. You should look in all of the classifieds, like dubizzle.com or bazaar.ae . You can usually find decent prices there. There are some retailers in Dubai that sell them like Jackys (http://www.jackys.com), but they are slightly more expensive. Another place to look is the auction site Souq (www.souq.com). You can find some great deals on there. Its a pretty save place to shop. All you do is sign up, and then you can start shopping. If you have never shopped online before, then this is a great place to start. Give it a try and you might like it. iPhone 3G... is it worth it?

The release of the new iPhone 3G on June 18th was a hit worldwide. Unfortunately they were not released in the UAE. So to get them we have to pay big money. This caused a lot of confusion because they were selling in the USA for just $199 (730 AED), so why do we in Dubai have to pay so much. Well that is because the iPhones are $199 with a contract for 2 years, which cost $70 a month. So if you multiply $70 with 24 (because 24 months) and add $199 (cost of iphone) you get a total of $1880. That is about 6900 AED. The high prices of the iphone 3G start to make sense now. So now I wonder why people pay almost double for an iPhone 3G when it would be ALOT cheaper to buy a regular iPhone. The only major difference between the two phones is the 3G has a little bettter battery life and faster internet download. I don't know about you, but I think I will stick with my old iPhone.
